Spring is in the air.  The flowers are starting to bloom.  It is a time for new beginnings.  Thank God!  There is nothing like
a chance to wipe the slate clean and start over to recharge your hope.  Our family got a good reminder of that this past
Palm Sunday when we went to New Smyrna with our church and Aviles got baptized.  What an awesome experience.
She was totally ready.  It left such an impression on me that I dreamt about it that night.  When I woke up the next morning
I thought of myself rising up out of the water as I was rising out of my bed.  I hope I can remember that every morning
when I get up.  I must remember to leave that old man there with his worries and stresses and misplaced ambitions and
let the new man get up and go about the day confident in the fact that God is bringing me closer to who he wants me to
be.  It was so cool to see my first child take the next step in her journey toward who she is destined to be.  I know we are
all wishing we could get to wherever it is we're going.  But watching Aviles grow, I realize it's all about the journey.
Extra-curricular activities have ground to a halt this month because we are finishing up Spring enrollment at Full Sail and
I have been consumed with it.  However, in a couple of weeks it will be over and hopefully we can get back to having a
little more time to get out and about.  Melanie, Alaila and Amarige did get to go to the zoo with Alaila's class the other day.
The girls go to a school called
The International Community School.  It's half private school and half home school.  For
any family that wants the opportunity to be involved in their child's education but also wants a classroom environment
and the social connection that a real school brings, not to mention a Christian environment where teachers actually 'pray'
with the students and teach 'biblical' values, this school is 'it'.  There is also a strong emphasis on giving children an
accurate 'World view' and the importance of 'community'.  Melanie and I could not be more happy that are girls are
students there.  So, if you live in the Central Florida area, have kids and a school like this sounds appealing, check it out!
Aviles competed in her first 4-H show today and did a great job for her first time.  It is really starting to sink in how
permanent this love of horses is.  Unfortunately, I tend to jump headlong into things without completely thinking about the
long term effects.  Sometimes that can be good because I end up in good places that I would probably never have been if
I had thought too much about it.  We went ahead and bought the property last year with the hope of putting our horses out
there and living with them.  Well, the more I think about it, the more I am beginning to see what a life altering experience
this will.  I already feel like I am committed and past the point of no return but I am not scared about it.  I am actually as
more excited about this as I have been about anything in a very long time.  Also, I seem to be moving into a place where
God has to show up or I'm in big trouble.  Although it doesn't feel good, that's the best position to be in.
My mom and dad got a little dog about a year ago that they are crazy over.  In fact, today they invited us over with our dogs
to celebrate it's first birthday.  His name is Sugarbabe and mom usually brings him to our house whenever she watched
the girls and he will play with our dogs Shi Shi and Abby.  So I guess they have become dogie buddies.  So we went over
to my parents house in celebration and had a little birthday party for him.  Dad said he wouldn't admit to anybody that we
had done this, but I guess the words out now.
