Alaila is on the ICS soccer team this year. There is one other girl on the team named Mac. She is in Alaila's classroom
as well. Alaila had a great time at practice and we can't wait for her first game. I think Alaila had as much fun 'girl-talking'
with Mac at the water cooler as she did kicking the ball around the field. On our way back to the car, Aviles came up to us
crying and rubbing her back. She had been playing soccer with some girls when these boys had come up to them and
started pushing them around. One boy jumped on Aviles and knocked her to the ground. I was furious. I told her to point
the boy out to me. I was ready to go rip his head off. She pointed to this little kid that looked to be about 4. Needles to
say I didn't approach him but I did tell Aviles the next time someone tried that, smack them in the face. She said she
wanted to but she didn't feel like that's what Jesus would have done. I looked at her and said, "Honey, we ain't Jesus".
Not the best advice I've ever given my daughters.
We are so fortunate to have Cirque du Soliel in town here at Downtown Disney. We decided to take Amarige because
she had never seen the show before. La Nouba is a must see. All the performers are amazing but our favorites are the
little juggling acrobat girls, AMAZING. I don't know what it is about that show, but it had the same affect on each of the
girls when they saw it. For the next 2-4 weeks after they see it, all they do is dress up in leotards, jump around the house
and dance to the soundtrack of the show. I came in the living room the other day and Alaila was standing on the back of
the couch trying to lift Amarige to her shoulders. My drama queen Aviles waltzes around the house in a feather boa
(feathers flying) singing every note along with the Cd. She sounds like she knows every word, but it's all in French. I
hope we get through their temporary infatuation with La Nouba without any broken bones. We'll have to get a bigger
bathtub before they see Cirque du Soliel's show O. It's a water show.
Alaila had a Fall Festival at school today and they got all dressed up in costumes. They were adorable as you can see.
We are going trick-or-treating tomorrow night with our small groups families. Summit, our church, has small groups and
the one we are a part of is awesome. We love all the families that make it up. They all have kids too so it is very family
oriented. It is a normal tendency of mine to become hermit-like when it comes to church related things other than a
regular Sunday service. I guess being raised a P.K. (preachers kid) causes you to become guarded about letting people
in a spiritual environment get too close. There is always a fear of someone hurting you when you lay your venerability out
there. But, I do see and feel how much more fulfilling it can be to 'walk through' your spiritual journey alongside of others.
Even with the risk of getting a low blow when you let people in, it sure does beat quarantining yourself off and missing
out on the experiences that can only be shared when you open yourself up.

We are continuing a Halloween tradition that was started last year. Ghost stories night at Leu Gardens. When you get
in, you wander down a garden path until you get to this beautiful grass lawn amphitheatre where you find a spot and
settle down to be spooked by ghost stories and wandering creatures. It is a blast! You will notice that Amarige is not in
the picture to the far left. She was a bit freaked out. It didn't help the fear factor that her mom had just had a panic attack.
We were walking down a pathway when out from behind a fruit tree ran a tiny little goblin. Melanie screamed so loud and
jumped so high that the little goblin (who was really an 8 year old kid) lifted his mask up to make sure that Melanie was
alright. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I'm laughing about it right now.
