We took the girls to Ocala for a Pony Club event at the Florida Horse Park. It was good just to get out of town and breathe
a little different air. Melanie volunteered as an assistant and Aviles participated in the events with Spirit while I kept the
other girls busy. They were not feeling well so we spent a lot of time just driving around so they could take naps. They
sleep better in a moving vehicle. In all my younger years of living in North Florida, I've only been THROUGH Ocala, not
necessarily TO it. This was my first time driving around through the horse country of Ocala. It was beautiful. The farms
along 475 and 475A are just amazing. We hope to create something like those farms on our 10 acres in Geneva. I also
sang at church this Sunday. The band was exceptionally tight. I think we are all getting more comfortable with each
other. I hope to be able to post some of the music soon.

Amarige won her first Blue Ribbon in Lead Line at GOHJA today. So did the other little girls that competed, but that didn't
matter to Amarige. The rest of the day was pretty chill. I took Amarige and Alaila home so Ave and Mel could stay and
watch their friends compete. It was all pretty domestic. I put Amarige down for a nap, made a baking soda volcano with
Alaila, we also made Valentine cookies and I cleaned the pool. Mel and Ave brought home Thai food and we watched
Over The Hedge when Amarige woke up. Sometimes I can't believe this is my life. I am really a husband. I am really a
dad. I am really getting old. And you know what? I really love it. It is amazing how underrated life's best pleasures are.
They've really gotten some bad PR and there is a whole world missing out. It's ironic how our whole culture puts
themselves first, before everything and everyone else. Thus depriving themselves of what would bring them the most
joy, fulfillment and pleasure. Others. Watch Over The Hedge and take it to heart.

Happy Valentine's Day! I am blessed x 4. I got to spend a wonderful day with all of my Valentine's. I had heard on some
talk show that one of the most romantic things a guy can do is spend a few hours cleaning the house and washing the
dishes and cooking and doing all the things that his lady usually has to do, and allow her time to just relax and take it
easy for the evening. That emphasises the major difference between men and women. To a guy like myself (and most
guys I would venture to guess), I understand how my wife would appreciate that, but I would never think that it would be
something she would consider 'romantic'. Well, I gave it a try and rounded the evening off with a personally cooked meal
(which I also cleaned up). It worked. It was one of the best Valentine's days we've ever had. By the way, we watched a
great movie we recommend. The Illusionist with Edward Norton, Paul Giammatti (amazing actor) and Jessica Biel.
This past weekend we decided to go to Disney on what ended up being the coldest day of the year here in Florida so far
this winter. Of course cold for us is anything below 60 degrees, but it got down into the low 40's. I (the Florida native)
love these cold snaps we have been having, but my Michigan wife has a fit if it gets below 75. She absolutely detests any
'remotely cool' and certainly 'cold' weather. So needles to say she wasn't enjoying it too much. It also didn't help that it
happened to be 'race week' so all the NASCAR fans were there with their little Dale Jr. wannabe kids. All the rides were a
minimum of 60 minutes wait with the exception of one ride. It just happened to be the reason we came to Disney in the
first place. Splash Mountain! Alaila was finally tall enough to ride. There was barely a 5 minute wait since you were sure
to get wet on the ride and it was 45 degrees out. That didn't deter Ave, Alaila and I. We came prepared. We got on the
ride, covered up in our plastic ponchos and had a blast. Of course, after we were done, we went directly to the
Polynesian resort and spent the rest of the night drinking hot cocoa and singing 'Tiny Bubbles' with a Hawaiian guitar
player in the 'warm' lounge. Melanie was happy.
