I stopped to buy flowers on my way home from work. I thought hard about which colors the girls would like. Yellow for
Aviles, Orange for Alaila and Pink for Amarige. I walked up to my own front door and rang the doorbell. Immediately the
door flung open and my three beautiful daughters stood there clapping their hands in excitement. I was as excited as
they were too. They looked so beautiful. A very real thought shot through my brain raining on my parade for a bit. I
thought, 'You had better enjoy every second you have with your girls like this because they are numbered'. I am
constantly amazed at how fleeting time is becoming as I watch my girls get older. But tonight I was determined to
capture every second and hold it for all it was worth. We went from the house to the Easter Bunny for pictures and then
on to dance the night away. And we sure did! However, Amarige was much more interested in the cakes, chocolate
covered strawberries and cheese.
This has been a crazy but very fun weekend. On Saturday Melanie finally had the I.S.C. School Auction event that she has
been working so hard on. It was held in an airplane hanger with a jet and the tarmac as the backdrop for the event. It
was an incredible event and Melanie did such an amazing job bringing it all together. The next day Melanie and I headed
out to the Ritz-Carlton for a Full Sail sponsored get away. It was awesome. After lounging around the pool all afternoon
we brought the girls over and swam in the lazy river and pools there and at the JW Marriott. We swam until the sun sank
down behind the trees and we had the pools all to ourselves. I took Vickie and the girls home and then met Melanie
back at the hotel and we had dinner at Primo. What an awesome meal made better by the fact that they were playing
Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits in the restaurant. Melanie went out and bought the CD right after that. The weekend
getaway was awesome but not nearly long enough.
Aviles and Cookie stole the show again today and walked away with Grand Champion. They got a first in Walk-Trot -
Equitation, a second in Walk-Trot - Pleasure and a first in Walk-Trot - Hunter Hack. That gave them enough points for
Grand Champion in that division. We all have such a blast at the shows. However, Alaila is really ready to compete.
She's getting tired of not being able to ride in the shows. Later that night we went home and I cooked dinner (which I love
to do) while we watched some of our traditional Easter shows. The girls had colored easter eggs and brought home all
kinds of Easter treats so we got a head start on eating candy. They are hoping the Easter bunny comes tomorrow. You
know what I love about the Easter bunny. He always seems to bring only the candy that I like to eat. We must have the
same taste in treats.
After church we went out to Celebration to have Easter lunch with Mimi C. and Poppi. The weather was a mild Florida
Spring day. You can start to smell the Orange Blossoms lingering in the air. This was the kind of day when I don't mind
living in Florida at all. It made you feel like a new beginning is just around the corner somewhere. I think I am ready for a
new beginning, some new mission for God to assign our family. A new season of purpose. Thinking about the
Resurrection of Christ cause me to rethink about how I have let many areas of my life die. Hopefully, this spring will
resurrect some of those things.
