If there is one thing the Champion's love to do, its celebrate.  We can take a special occasion that most people would
celebrate in a day and turn it into a multi-week party.  So in true Champion style, today was the start of Alaila's 6th birthday
half-month blow out.  It began simply enough though, with a birthday waffle and strawberries for breakfast.  Tonight we
will have a 'family only' party with Mimi C and Poppi, then multiple birthday event will follow.  We sold the house and we
close in the middle of the month so we probably should be packing, but we will put everything on hold to celebrate
Alaila's 6th birthday like we should.  Alaila is particular about her birthday wish list.  She only had 2 things on it this year.
She wanted a robot pony and a robot dinosaur.  I am not sure where the robot fascination comes in, but hey...whatever
the princess wants.  Right?  Just like her mom...hehehe.  I love you Mel.
Believe it or not, I really enjoy getting up at 5 a.m. with Aviles and taking the early morning shift at her horse shows.  The
weather is still beautiful down here and the mornings are especially pleasant.  There is nothing like the smell of the
barns in the morning, the sound of the horses neighing and warm coffee in your hand.  Pretty cool stuff.  Aviles is
competing for a 4-H event today.  She has to get a certain number of points to make it to the state competition.  This is
her first year doing this and we can tell that the competition is extremely tough.  There are super high dollar horses here
and very experienced riders (a whole lot of them in fact) and Aviles will be competing right along side of them on precious
little Spirit.  This is the last show where Aviles will be the sole Champion girl competing.  Alaila is now ready to start
competing in Walk/Trot and will begin at the next Foxcry show at the beginning of next month.  She can't wait!
We had an awesome dad celebrating what wonderful Mothers we all have.  We went to church and afterward met up with
my mom and dad to have a buffet lunch at the Gaylor resort.  It was wonderful.  We stuffed ourselves with food and
desserts and then walked around the giant indoor atrium.  It is awesome to see all the wonderful examples my girls will
have of strong women and mothers in their lives.  Between, Mimi V., Mimi C. and their own amazing mother, they are
destined for greatness.  What an awesome legacy of family we are blessed with.  It seems to be a rarity these days.  It is
only by God's grace that we are so blessed, but I hope as the girls get older, they will appreciate the strong foundation
laid for them.  It's come through many decades and several generations of working through issues that test our
commitment to each other and then coming out on the other side of those test stronger and more knitted together than
before.  God bless our mothers.
Today our second little baby graduated from Kindergarten.  I can't believe our girls are getting so big.  Just as we were
wrapping up the birthday celebrations for Alaila, we now have another reason to celebrate.  I need to mention also that
Amarige just graduated from her swimming classes and is now an excellent swimmer and has been going to all the
'School's Out For Summer' parties and show off her amazing fish-like qualities.  We are officiall out of our house and
settleing into an adorable little (and I mean little) rental house.  We are praying that we will be able to start building by
July.
